In designing the National Biblical Greek Exam, we've concentrated on developing an exam that not only gives an assessment about a student's progress in Greek, but that can also be used as a guide for a student's study habits. A web-based structure is ideal for this; we can offer an exam that gives instant, detailed feedback, that's tailored to a student's abilities, and that's available to be taken any time, anywhere a student has access to the internet.

Exam Purpose

Most standardized tests are mainly concerned with one-time assessment and quality control issues. Students can only take these tests at specific times in particular locations and are rather expensive. They are inconvenient, stressful, and only offer generalized assessment. But with the NBGE, we've made test-taking more convenient, less stressful, and more valuable as a learning tool instead of just a means of assessment. Because the exam is web-based, you can take it any time, day or night, even in the privacy of your own home. You can take the exam up to ten times per month, and we encourage this by keeping the cost down. We only charge $10 to take the exam once, or you can pay $20 for an unlimited pass for the academic year. We'll also award each year's top scorers with prizes.

Retaking the exam is not just about the awards, though. We give students detailed information about their performance immediately after the exam, giving them a list of all the questions they missed, showing them the answer they gave and the correct answer. We also highlight their strengths and weaknesses in different grammatical areas to guide them in their studies.

We also make this same detailed assessment available to instructors. We can show you the grammatical strengths and weaknesses of not only each individual student, but also of your classes overall.
